Missy Franklin: 5 Things You Should Know about the Gold Medalist

Olympic swimmer Missy Franklin is making waves in London. She’s just 17 and managed to win a gold medial in her first individual event, the 100m backstroke. Oh, and she set a new American record with a speed of 58.33.

It gets better! Missy set the record just minutes after she finished her 200m qualifying round. Meaning, she swam four lengths of the pool before competing for gold in the 100m.
