Was James Holmes Sedated in Court?
The public got a first glimpse at Colorado shooting suspect James Holmes today when the former med student, sporting a mop of Joker-like red hair, looking dazed in an initial appearance before the judge.
Was he drugged?
As for some of his wild eye movements, Driver explained, “What that means is, first, he's proud of what he's done and then he's fearful of the consequences, most likely.”
Authorities say that Holmes, 24, is refusing to cooperate. He is currently being held without bond in solitary confinement at Arapahoe County detention facility.

Proud of what he's done?! This woman is a complete idiot. This poor man is severely psychotic, like Jared Loughner before him, and *nothing* in his body language or facial expressions ever shows pride- only confusion, sadness, fear, and dissociation. She understands NOTHING of mental illness. I don't expect her to, but to say that he looks prideful is ridiculous and wrong.
As usual, Janine's analysis is interesting and right on. If you're looking to learn more about Janine's work, I've read "You Say More Than You Think." It's a great read. She's also releasing a new book this fall. I've already saved my copy.
Janine Driver is brilliant! I found her so insightful.
Finally some insight form a real expert on body language. I like the idea that he is scared as hell when he showed us his"3 whites of his eyes"
Should have Janine on more often in many different ways. Love the analysis is what's behind the microexpressions!
Janine,
Great comments on this guy, as always so very informative. Thank you, I love to hear your thoughts insight.

Janine's probably hit it pretty straight on the dot analyzing his body language. It'll be great to get also his medical health analysis and some of his upbringing details to have it fully analyzed so we can understand better why it's come to such a tragedy. Take this knowledge, and educate the public how to look for these signs early enough to know when to get help for such people so that we can prevent future tragedies (at very least, minimize).
I think the body language expert is really interesting. Her views on this make me want to study body language--in fact--I went to the bookstore and found a book she wrote--you can't lie to me---and the bookstore owner told me she has another book out--in August. I looked on her website lyintamer.com and took some quizzes. I think body language is so fascinating...she's great too. It's a horrible tragedy but I feel the body language expert gave me some insight about it.
