Lisa Marie Presley on Dad Elvis: 'His Music Is Probably Embedded in Me'

July 06, 2012 Music
Singer Lisa Marie Presley sat down with “Extra” at the legendary Sun Studio in Memphis, where dad Elvis Presley began his singing career, and talked about how Elvis has influenced her own music, including her new single, “Storm and Grace.”

“I think that his music is probably embedded in me very young, because that’s what I knew and heard the most,” explained Lisa Marie.

She added, “I wasn’t trying in any way to sound like him specifically. It’s just in my genetic code that he will definitely be influencing me in how I hear and think musically.”

It's just too bad that Lisa Marie doesn't have her dad's singing ability. Perhaps she should try a new career (?)
