'American Idol's' Phillip Phillips Released from Hospital

“American Idol” winner Phillip Phillips is out of the hospital after undergoing kidney surgery in Los Angeles last Wednesday.

"I'm out of the hospital and back to work!" Phillips exclusively told E! News. "Looking forward to the future."

The seven-hour surgery was necessary to remove kidney stones, which had ailed him all last season on “Idol.”

Now that he’s in the clear, Phillips will join the rest of Season 11’s top 10 singers on the road for the American Idols Live tour. The group will kick-off the first of 45 shows on July 6 in Detroit.
