The $20-Million Question: Is J.Lo Coming Back to 'Idol'?

May 24, 2012 American Idol
Singer Phillip Phillips was chosen as the new “American Idol” Wednesday, but the big question on everyone’s mind is whether judge Jennifer Lopez will return for another season.

Rumors are swirling that FOX has yet to ask the judges to return and may be delaying negotiation deals, which reportedly could be a $20 million payday for Jennifer. Lopez appeared on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show right after the “Idol” finale, talking about her future on the show.

"I love this show, I love it. We'll have to see how everything falls, but it's not because I don't want to be here,” said J.Lo.

Judge Steven Tyler also confirmed to "Extra's" Terri Seymour that FOX is playing the waiting game. "Whether they ask us back or not," he said he definitely wants to return.

J.Lo admittedly has a very busy upcoming schedule with her show “Q’Viva!” with ex Marc Anthony, a fall concert tour, and says she wants to focus on her 4-year-old twins, Max and Emme.

She told Seacrest, "I got two little coconuts. It's a lot of weighing and balancing and deciding. You know what? I’m very blessed with high-class problems.”

Meanwhile, Seymour also spoke with winner Phillips and runner-up Jessica Sanchez. Phillips said he would be having surgery to fix his kidney problems before he goes on the “Idol” tour this summer. “It will fix me all up and make me better so I'm looking forward to it.”

Sanchez marveled how her friend persevered throughout the competition. “He really fought through this whole competition, not only mentally but physically.”

I don't understand why fox is making them, wait to coordinate their careers. It's not like they have nothing but free time to wait. These two were the best judges so far on A. I. Fox and it's affiliates would be stupid to let them get away. I do know that if Simon or Paula come back I will not watch another season. Fox network should be overjoyed to get such megastars that are willing to judge. Shame on Fox, yet again for making the two hold their breath in waiting stages, while both trying to hold down families and huge careers other than them. Foolish on Fox's part to play this childish, rotten game with Jennifer and Steven's careers.

I hope they all come back! I think the show has finally gotten the right judges. Steven Tyler & J-Lo they know real talent & that's what they look for & they can reject someone without tearing down their dreams. It's been great watching the show because of them.

Hoping Jennifer Lopez does not return to Idol - this year the judges were annoying especially JLo - which could have voted her off the job.
