“American Idol” contestants Jessica Sanchez and Phillip Phillips are moving on to the finals – and Joshua Ledet is going home.
The three singers performed three songs each on Wednesday, one chosen by the judges, one of their own songs and finally one chosen by mentor Jimmy Iovine.
Judges Steven Tyler, Jennifer Lopez, and Randy Jackson chose Etta James' "I'd Rather Go Blind" for Ledet's first performance. Watch!
Ledet was gracious in defeat. He closed the singing contest Thursday with his rendition of "It's a Man's World," replicating one of his most popular performances of the season.
The finale will consist of a two-hour performance episode on Tuesday, May 22, followed by a results episode on Wednesday.

hey Maria, you're such a hater. Jessica Sanchez is fantastic. Do you know what really talent is all about? you should not base your horrible criticism on just one performance. She have a sore throat that time but still she managed to sing that well. She's very professional. Yes, let say the judges favored her a lot, but if they didn't see her potentials and talent from the very beginning, they will not do such thing. Open your eyes girl! i like joshua also but sometimes people only basing there judgment just because of looks or whatever. Be fair you know!
I believe that America got "it ALL WRONG" honestly i do not believe that Jessica Sanchez should have been put through to the finale. I think her performance on Wednesday evening was not all that and honestly Joshua and Phillip should have been the last two standing. I am so upset with the outcome of the results. I did and always do vote and Jessica was not one of my favorites. I believe that everyone is making more out of her than there is. She is only 16 and still has a lot of growing up to do. Jennifer Lopez I believed favored her since the beginning and that influenced the viewers. I truly hope that Philip WINS the title.
OMG on American Idol, I was shocked that Josh got kicked off. He so good. Believe me all three are Fantastic but I really thought it would be Josh and Jessica. I loved them all Jessica, Joshua and Phillip. But I know that the three of them will be Big Stars they are all so, so good. And they are all different. Jessica is a new Whitney. Joshua I do hope he does an Album with alot of Retro Music, good old days we can use these days. He is the Bomb. Philip is great also be because he does his own thing and arrangements and that is what makes a great artist. I believe that Philip will win Idol. But Jessica will go on to be a great star.
