The recent Time magazine cover -- which shows a Los Angeles mother, Jamie Lynn Grumet, breastfeeding her rather large 3-year-old son -- is generating serious buzz on the social media platforms.

Many are taking to their Twitter accounts to express their views on how old is too old to breast feed. Actress Alyssa Milano, who had a baby last year, tweeted "@Time no! You missed the mark! You're supposed to be making it easier for breastfeeding moms. Your cover is exploitive & extreme." Read more tweets here!

I just saw the pic of the mother breast feeding her 3year old son it is ok. The reason is and this will sound mean but she white so i'm not to shocked . If she was not white then I would be.

Breast feeding is a normal thing but this is weird. She is just plain lazy, pump them and get a cup. He's almost as big as she is.
The picture is very inappropriate. It is exploiting that child. He is going to be the butt of jokes for a very long time. The mother was wrong, wrong , wrong to pose for this picture! How will her son feel when he is a teenager and his peers find this photo. Even if it was photoshopped, the picture is just disturbing. Surely, this woman does not nurse her child in this position. The photo is making a mockery of breastfeeding. This young child should not be in this photo, he will be embarrassed when he is older. I am not even going to comment on breastfeeding a four year old!
i feel that this mother need mental health ,, she cause these children some major mental damage ... there other ways to show your children closeness , she has over step the bounds of parenting interaction
It's crazy that this mother thinks it's okay to do this. She needs help. This is incredibly disturbing and even more so that she thinks it's perfectly normal proves how unbalanced this woman is....I think she should be arrested and forced to get help.
Most of you out there are really IGNORANT when it comes to the human body and the amazing machine that it really is. Can't you see this was staged for a magazine cover?? If you have issues then that is your problem you should own it. Why would you think that this mother is doing it for herself?? How would you know this unless you asked her. I do believe there is a lack of education when the greater public becomes fueled over something so normal. I suggest you really dig deep into your thinking on "why" you would be so opinionated when it is between that mother and her son on when they feel it is time to wean. How do you know that they are not in the process of weaning- you don't you are reading into the photo more than it needs to be. I say to all get a life.
I have three children and nine grandchildren.They were not breast feed at this age.I think she needs to think of the child her husband and let the child grow up naturaly.This is why we have so many adults who refuse to grow up and act as adults as they are still holding on to mommys apron strings or in this case boobs.Come on world how does this make the child better.when there old enough for a cup give it to them!!!!!
I think breastfeeding your baby is one of the most beautiful things there is. I breastfed all three of my children. But I also feel this kid is to old. This woman is doing this for herself now. At age 2, kids can hold a cup on their own so they really should be weened from the breast or bottle. But with anything great, there is always someone who will ruin it.

I like this photo better than having this toddler having a bottle hanging out of his mouth, at least his teeth will be straight and most likely will not have to wear a cootie mask when he is old an unable to breath!
Finally Breastfeeding is the NORM. This is a wonderful natural photo. I bet that kid is healthy and smart! :)
this is disgusting! Wait till this poor kids friends see this. He is going to hate her for this. She needs to let go for Gods sake!
