Talk show host Ellen DeGeneres expressed her gratitude to President Obama following his announcement of support for same-sex marriage.
DeGeneres said, “What an amazing day for our country. President Obama just came out in support of same sex marriage. And I say, wow, wow. There have been moments in history when someone has had the courage to stand up for what they believe in and that one action changes everything. I hope that this is one of those times. It takes a brave man to take a stand like this especially in an election year. Mr. President, to you, I say, thank you, very, very much."

Meanwhile, Hollywood is preparing for an all-star fundraiser for President Obama Thursday at George Clooney's Studio City home. High-profile guests will include Robert Downey Jr., Tobey Maguire, Barbra Streisand, director-producer J.J. Abrams and many others. The fundraiser is expected to raise $15 million for the president's re-election campaign.

Some of my best friends are gay, their is scientific fact to support being gay is not a "lifestyle choice", male brains are born into female bodies and female brains are born into male bodies, the reason is still a scientific mystery, but it does happen and often. I keep hearing about "people's right of freedom of religion" but what about our rights of freedom of expression, freedom of choice, freedom of speech. I applaud our President for his stand on same sex marriage, people think he'll loose votes, well whatever votes he's going to loose I believe he was going to loose anyway, but I believe he will gain votes from the gay community and those of us who have friends/family who are gay and support gay marriage.
