Matt Lauer: 'I Want to Report News, Not Be News'

"Extra" host AJ Calloway met up with “Today” host Matt Lauer at TIME Magazine's annual 100 Most Influential People gala, where he was being honored, to talk about his recent multi-million-dollar deal to re-sign with the "Today" show.

Lauer revealed to "Extra" that he would like to use his "influence" to end the morning show ratings war. "I'm here to offer a peace treaty in those wars. I want to go back to doing the news… not being in the news."
