Taylor Swift to Play Joni Mitchell?

Country superstar Taylor swift is considering playing the role of music legend Joni Mitchell in the upcoming film, "Girls Like Us," reports Variety.

The 22-year-old singer has been linked to the role for several months, but Sony Pictures has not made an official offer.

Several actresses have auditioned to play fellow musicians Carly Simon and Carole King, including "Midnight in Paris" star Alison Pill as King.

Production for the adaptation of Sheila Weller's book "Girls Like Us" has been scheduled to start later this year.

Swift made her acting debut in the romantic comedy "Valentine's Day" and most recently voiced a role in "The Lorax."
