'American Idol' Results: Who Had a Bad Night?

April 19, 2012 American Idol

That would the fans of Colton Dixon, who couldn’t believe their favorite was going home.

To top it off, this was the first time in the “American Idol” competition Dixon found himself in the bottom three, along with Hollie Cavanagh and Elise Testone.

Check out Colton’s rendition of the Lady Gaga song "Bad Romance” from Wednesday’s performances.

Dixon made a graceful exit. "I need to apologize," he told the judges. "I wasn't myself last night, and I get it, and I appreciate what you told me last night. I'll take that when I'm making a record."

"You'll make many records," Jennifer Lopez assured him. Randy Jackson added, "You have a huge career ahead of you.”
