'Idol' Results: And Then There Were Eight

March 29, 2012 American Idol

After some stellar performances by the "American Idol" top nine contestants, they faced another elimination night on Thursday.

Hollie Cavanagh, Heejun Han and Skylar Laine found themselves in the bottom three, but only Heejun was the one sent packing.

He reprised his performance of Donnie Hathaway's "A Song for You." Watch the performance!

Judges Steven Tyler, Jennifer Lopez and Randy Jackson deliberated on whether to save the Flushing, NY native.

Then, Tyler said, "Heejun, let the record show that you knew this was coming yourself. You saw it come last week ... Unfortunately, after talking, we're going to have to let you go."

Nicki Minaj and "Idol" Season 10 winner Scotty McCreary were the guest performers.

Find out who will be the next to go when the eight finalists return on "American Idol."
