Pauley Perrette and Others Lead the Charge at the Genesis Awards

"Extra" caught up with Uggie, star of "The Artist" and "NCIS" star and animal lover Pauley Perrette at the 2012 Genesis Awards, which honor news and entertainment media for raising public awareness of animal issues.

"I'm a lifelong animal activist," said Perrette." "I love this event."

The 2012 Genesis Awards were held Saturday night at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills. Among the honorees was "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," which was named outstanding talk show for an interview with Humane Society President and CEO Wayne Pacelle about dogfighting and puppy mills.
