Who Killed It on 'American Idol' Last Night?

March 22, 2012 American Idol

Wednesday night's "American Idol" featured songs by Billy Joel, which posed a challenge for some of the finalists, while others rose to the occasion by showing their impressive vocal skills.

Tennessee native Colton Dixon boldly took on Joel's "Piano Man," bringing a modern twist to the 1973 classic. The 20-year-old, who has stayed consistently strong week after week, accompanied himself on a red piano.

The audience cheered wildly after his solid performance, and even guest judge Diddy gave his approval.

Other top finalists include Elise Testone, who sang a flawless rendition of "Vienna," and Phillip Phillips, who belted out a superb version of "Movin' Out."
