Exclusive! 'Idol' Judges Dish on Sing-Off and Audience Favorites

February 29, 2012 American Idol

"Extra's" Terri Seymour went backstage at "American Idol," and asked how they felt about "X Factor's" Simon Cowell challenging the winner of the three biggest singing shows -- "X Factor," "American Idol," and "The Voice" -- to have a sing-off. Randy Jackson said, "Who?" followed by Lopez, who asked, "What did he say?"

Randy exclaimed, "We want to have a judge-off! Forget having a sing-off! Let's bring Adam [Levine]... let's get Cee Lo!" Jennifer pointed out, "But they don't judge on that show, right? They mentor?" Seacrest chimed in, "I don't host that show, don't ask."

Lopez said she knows which contestants the audience is rooting for, saying, "I could already hear who their favorites are, it's funny... they pick them out right away."

Seacrest added, "There was [an audience member] that was so loud, it was almost uncomfortable."

Steven Tyler poked fun at Jennifer Lopez for her Oscars nip slip, saying, "What's the big deal that I can show my nipple and she can't show hers?"

Tyler joked around on Tuesday night's live show, playfully saying, "Wait, wait, who am I?" and pulled his shirt open, exposing his chest -- mimicking J.Lo's wardrobe malfunction. J.Lo looked surprised and proclaimed, "There was no nipple!"

Lopez's camp denied the nip slip during her stage presentation with Cameron Diaz on Sunday's Academy Awards, saying it was not possible because of the construction of the dress.

The judges will narrow the 25 contestants to the top 13 on Thursday's live results show on "Idol," airing at 8/7C on FOX.
