Nancy Grace, Bill O'Reilly Defend Whitney Houston Comments

February 16, 2012 Remembered

Thursday's morning news programs were fueled by arguments over strong remarks made by HLN host Nancy Grace and FOX News host Bill O'Reilly regarding Whitney Houston's death.

On her program Monday, Grace demanded to know how Whitney died -- and even hinted the superstar may have been murdered, saying, "I'd like to know who was around her, who, if anyone, gave her drugs, following alcohol and drugs, and who let her slip, or pushed her, underneath that water?"

"Good Morning America" anchor Robin Roberts questioned Grace about her controversial comments. Watch the interview.

Then, over at the "Today" show Thursday, host Matt Lauer and O'Reilly got into it over the FOX News host's remarks that Whitney "wanted to kill herself... the hard truth is that some people will always want to destroy themselves, and there's nothing society can do about it." O'Reilly also said that "the media looked the other way" as Houston descended into addiction.
