'Extra' Raw! J.R. Martinez 'Embraces' Being Grand Marshal

"Extra" caught up with war hero and "Dancing with the Stars" champ J.R. Martinez at the 2012 Rose Parade in Pasadena, Calif.

An excited and enthusiastic J.R., Grand Marshal of the annual parade, said he was honored to be part of the New Year festivities and is "embracing the opportunity to be here."

Martinez, who recently learned he will be a father, beamed when he said he was having a girl. Martinez dished, "I want her to be an athlete!"

Hosting the ABC telecast were ESPN co-anchor Hannah Storm and "Good Morning America" news anchor Josh Elliott, who also talked about the fanaticism of the parade and the many volunteers who help make it possible.
