Despite a little L.A. rain, the stars managed to stay dry and looked fabulous as they walked the red carpet at the 2011 American Music Awards.

Metallic numbers, beaded frocks and barely-there gowns ruled the red carpet at this year's event.

Teen sensation Selena Gomez slipped into a gold, backless dress and got a kiss from her heartthrob boyfriend, Justin Bieber. Jennifer Hudson chose a gray metallic mini, while J.Lo sexed it up in a lacy black number. Taylor Swift sparkled in a floor-length gown as she took home the Artist of the Year Award for the second time,
