William and Kate's $1-Million Dinner

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge hosted a dinner at St. James' Palace on Thursday, raising about $1 million for charity, according to People.

Prince William, who supports the Child Bereavement Charity, said in a speech directed to the nonprofit and the 100 Women Hedge Funds, "What you are both doing together to alleviate the suffering of children who have lost family members, and bereaved families who have experienced the tragedy of losing a child, is beyond praise."

The Duchess, who looked elegant in a floor-length red dress, looked on while her husband spoke. William also said he found it "gratifying" that the two organizations are working so well together.
