The woman charged with burglarizing "Jeopardy" host Alex Trebek's San Francisco hotel room is a prostitute, not a thief, according to her attorney, Mark Jacobs.

Jacobs claimed his client, 56-year-old Lucinda Moyers, was in the downtown San Francisco area to meet a patron on the night she allegedly robbed Trebek, reports the San Francisco Examiner.

Prosecutors claim Moyers stole a $650 bracelet and other items from the hotel room where the game show host was staying with his wife. The stolen items have not yet been recovered.

Moyers has pleaded not guilty to the felony charges of burglary and possession of stolen property.

Trebek said he chased Moyers out of his room, causing him to tear his Achilles tendon.
