Video! Jake Gyllenhaal Involved in Real-Life Police Drama

Actors Jake Gyllenhaal and Michael Pena didn't know their research for an upcoming police drama would lead them to the middle of a real crime!

The actors were on a ride-along with their police escort, Sgt. Tammy Bowen, in South Los Angeles, where they witnessed the aftermath of what Los Angeles police characterize as a gang shooting.

The victim in the case, who was shot in the lip and arm, was treated for non-life-threatening injuries, and no suspects have been identified.

Gyllenhaal and Pena were researching roles for the upcoming movie "End of Watch," about two longtime LAPD partners.
