Sarah Palin: 'Paul Revere Warned the British'
Former Governor of Alaska Sarah Palin told a news station her inaccurate version of Paul Revere's famous midnight ride, while she visited Revere's historical home in Old North Church, Bunker Hill on Thursday.
"He who warned, uh, the British that they weren't gonna be takin' away our arms, uh, by ringing those bells, and um, makin' sure as he's riding his horse through town to send those warning shots and bells that we were going to be sure and we were going to be free, and we were going to be armed," she said.
Revere, of course, warned the colonists of Charlestown that the British were approaching on the night of April 18, 1775 using lanterns, not bells.
Palin is traveling around the country, visiting historical U.S. landmarks with her husband, parents and youngest daughter Piper, and talking to the media along the way, although she has not notified the press of her travel schedule.
