Allison Gilbert Discusses Her New Book, 'Parentless Parents'

February 26, 2011 Lifechangers

"Extra" Lifechanger and author Allison Gilbert addresses moms and dads who are "Parentless Parents," which is also the title of her new book. "Extra" has discovered more than half of American families are parentless parents -- 57 percent to be exact. The author believes raising children is hard enough without the love and guidance from grandparents. "Grandparents have this enormous influence kids," she explains.

In her book, Gilbert comes up with fun and creative ways to teach parents and children how to close the "grandparent gap." "Show them where their grandma worked. Doing things with your children and showing them will mean a lot more to them than any story or any photograph."
