Gayle King Gets Her Own OWN Show

January 06, 2011 Television

Talk show host and Oprah BFF Gayle King stopped by The Grove to talk with "Extra's" Mario Lopez about her new TV gig, "The Gayle King Show" on Winfrey's OWN Network.

"We're marrying radio and TV together," King explained, referring to her already popular Oprah XM radio show of the same name. "It's not celebrity-driven, although I am a big pop culture junkie and news junkie, and so certainly very in touch with that. What makes it work is the people that come to play with me."

King will also be participating in OWN's "Ask Oprah's All Stars" with Dr. Phil, Dr. Oz and Suze Orman.

The busy media exec told Lopez there was a lot on her plate. "It's a little nerve racking, isn't it?" but added, "We are juggling so many balls and occasionally you're going to drop a ball. My thing is you pick it up and keep going and just refuse to beat yourself up when you were doing the best you can."

"The Gayle King Show" premieres Monday, Jan. 10 at 10:00 AM on OWN.
