Janet Jackson: 'A Work in Progress'

Actress/singer Janet Jackson sat down with "Extra" to chat about her style... and learning to love life.

Jackson said she enjoys expressing herself with her style. "If you're not careful, you can start looking like everyone else," she explained. "So it's really about expressing who you are, as opposed to 'Oh, this is what's in right now.'"

Miss Jackson is playing a strong woman getting out of a troubled marriage in Tyler Perry's "For Colored Girls..." and has written a book, "True You," detailing her past struggles with body image and weight.

"I'm just someone who truly is finally accepting of myself," she continued. "Still a work in progress, but I'm in a much better place. I'm really loving life now."
