Mel Gibson is itching for a big "Hangover" -- cameo, that is. "Extra" spoke with Gibson's close friend, Jodie Foster, who confirmed the actor will indeed make an appearance in "Hangover 2," the sequel to the Golden Globe-winning hit comedy.

Catching up with Foster at ELLE's 17th Annual Women in Hollywood Tribute, she told "Extra" Gibson loved the first "Hangover." "He really liked the humor in that first movie so I'm glad he'll be in it!"

Foster also reiterated her support of her "incredible and loyal friend" who she admitted is going through a "rough time," but she believes his talent will prevail. "He is incredibly loved by everyone that's ever come into contact with him or works with him. He is truly the most loved man in the film business, so, hopefully that stands for something."

Who will Gibson be playing in "Hangover 2"? Sources told EW that Gibson won't play himself, as MikeTyson did in the original "The Hangover," but instead will portray a larger-than-life character similar to Tom Cruise's turn as Les Grossman in "Tropic Thunder."
