Rita Cosby's 'Quiet Hero'

September 02, 2010 As Seen On Extra

Emmy-winning journalist Rita Cosby opened up to "Extra" about her new book, "Quiet Hero," in which she details how she reconnected with her estranged father.

She broke down the barrier with her father by listening to one of his most traumatic memories -- which he'd kept secret for many years. "He was on the front lines of war for five and a half years, and then in a POW camp for six months -- starving."

Rita wants others to hear their heartwarming story, and teach how to reach a secretive loved one. Watch the video for her advice.
