Will Piers Morgan Be the Next Larry King?

Rumor has it that "America's Got Talent" judge Piers Morgan is thisclose to a deal with CNN, but he wouldn't fess up to "Extra" when we asked.

"I can't actually talk about it at the moment," Morgan told "Extra's" Terri Seymour. "What I will say is that Larry King is one of my all-time idols."

Morgan's judging cohorts on "America's Got Talent" think he'd be a perfect replacement for King. "He could fill his suspenders!" Howie Mandel exclaimed, while Sharon Osbourne added, "Oh my God, Piers could do it blindfolded!'

Seymour asked how Morgan, with his extensive journalistic background, might question current tabloid inhabitants like Mel Gibson, and he quickly replied, "Why, why, why, why, why, why are you such a racist, misogynist, homophobic ranting lunatic? Honestly, I never thought anyone could be as bad as Howie Mandel. Mel, good work! I think it's all over."

Lindsay Lohan? "When are you gonna grow up? You know, you're not a teenager anymore." And Tiger? "Tiger Woods, I bet you're missing those strippers aren't you?"

"America's Got Talent" airs Tuesdays and Wednesdays 9:00 PM on NBC.
