Brolin's Exclusive Dish on 'Goonies' Sequel

June 14, 2010 Exclusive

It's been 25 years since cult classic "The Goonies" was released -- and the film's original star, Josh Brolin, is finally giving an answer to the question: Will there be a sequel?

"People keep asking me over and over about a sequel," Brolin told "Extra" at the "Jonah Hex" junket. "I saw Steven Spielberg [the film's producer] on the street about a month and a half ago, and I asked the reality. I hear there is a script, yes, but there's no talk about doing a 'Goonies' sequel at this very moment. And that's the first time I've been truthful about that answer... ever. Exclusive!"

The original 1985 film followed a group of kids, lead by teen heartthrob Brolin, as they embark on a wild adventure after finding a pirate treasure map. It also starred kid actors Sean Astin, Corey Feldman and Martha Plimpton and was directed by Richard Donner.
