April 29, 2010 Celebrity Scandals

On Thursday's "Oprah," John Edwards' mistress, Rielle Hunter, opened up about their affair, their daughter -- and denied that she is a "home wrecker."

When asked if she thought she was a home wrecker, Rielle replied, "Absolutely not... It's not my experience that a third party wrecks a home." Adding, "You can't steal someone else's husband ... People are not property."

Hunter refused to answer one question on everyone's mind: What is the status of her relationship with the former presidential candidate? "That's private," she said with a slight laugh. She did tell Oprah that she still loves Edwards and believes he loves her too, cryptically saying, "It's my experience that he loves me."

The one thing that Hunter claims not to know is whether or not she hurt John's cancer-stricken wife, Elizabeth. "I did know that he was married, but I didn't know what their marriage was like."

Throughout the relationship, Rielle had doubts continuing the affair, but says their love was overpowering. "The power of love does override... Our hearts were louder than the mind."
