'American Idol': And Then There Were Five

April 28, 2010 American Idol

"American Idol" says so long to finalist Siobhan Magnus.

American Idol Top 12

The theme was country and mentor Shania Twain helped coach the finalists in their techniques. Magnus sang "Any Man of Mine," ending it with one of her signature high notes -- but it wasn't enough to save her.

Host Ryan Seacrest called Magnus an "independent spirit" for her unique sense of fashion and her unpredictability. After belting out Aretha Franklin's "Freedom," Magnus joined her family in the audience for hugs and support.

As for the rest of the results show, the performers included Carrie Underwood, Rascal Flatts -- and a better late than never Shakira, who debuted her new song "Gypsy."

Harry Connick Jr. mentors the Top 5 next week, as the singers prepare for the Sinatra theme.
