Kate Gosselin: Tabloids Are 'Hurtful and Harmful'

April 13, 2010 Dancing With The Stars

"Extra" special correspondent Vienna Girardi, caught up with Kate Gosselin after Monday night's "Dancing with the Stars" episode, in which the mom of eight gave one of her best performances -- showing the judges that she's determined!

Kate was all smiles backstage after a highly emotional week. "I'm on covers of tabloids every week. It's hurtful and it's harmful, but I steer myself away from it and I know the truth and the people that know and love me know the truth," said the reality star.

Gosselin says she can determine what kind of day is in store for her based on the news. "I wake up and check the news first thing in the morning to see what my day is gonna bring me today... What hell I'm gonna go through."

In the midst of what could be an ugly custody battle with ex hubby Jon Gosselin, Kate's dancing partner, Tony Dovolani, defends her. "Her kids are her world, her life, her everything. They need to stop saying that. They truly need to stop saying that."

While Kate stepped up her game on last night's "Dancing" episode, "Bachelor" Jake Pavelka fumbled. His fiancée, Vienna Girardi, had his back.

"I thought he deserved a 10," said Vienna.
