Nicole Richie and Joel Madden Engaged

They've been together for three years and have two kids, now Nicole Richie and Joel Madden are planning a walk down the aisle!

The Good Charlotte singer confirmed his engagement to fashionista and celebutante Nicole Richie via his Twitter page.

"Yep. I'm engaged. Very happy. Yeah we've been engaged for a while so you're all kind of late on that. But Thanks for the hoopla all the same," Madden Tweeted. "P.S. That's why I love my family and friends. None of them are sources. All good tightlipped people who let us enjoy it! Thanks everybody."

News of the engagement broke Monday evening in NYC when a fan congratulated Richie after spotting a new ring on her left hand, reported In Touch.

Richie, 28, and Madden, 30, have been together for over three years and have two children; Harlow, 2, and Sparrow, 5 months. Nicole is the daughter of singer Lionel Richie.
