February 12, 2010 Olympics

The remake of 1985's "We Are the World" made its world premiere Friday during the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympics.

Organizers Lionel Richie and Quincy Jones introduced the song via video and said the money raised by its sales will provide food, shelter and medicine for the Haitian people.

A three-minute version of the video aired Friday and the full seven-minute video (below) will debut on Saturday.

The video, directed by Paul Haggis, shows the devastation in Haiti. It also shows some of the 85 artists who gathered to record the track earlier this month in L.A.

Teen heartthrob Justin Bieber opens the song. Also featured are Wyclef Jean, Will.i.am, Jennifer Hudson, Nicole Scherzinger, Sugarland's Jennifer Nettles, Barbra Streisand, Celine Dion, Fergie, Josh Groban, LL Cool J, Nick Jonas, Lil Wayne, Jeff Bridges, Kanye West and Miley Cyrus.

Janet Jackson also sings a duet with Michael Jackson's original vocals. Michael co-wrote the original song with Richie.

"We Are the World" is available now on iTunes.
