Allison Iraheta Defends Adam Lambert

December 07, 2009 American Idol

Adam Lambert may have sparked controversy with his raunchy performance at the American Music Awards, but fellow "American Idol" contestant Allison Iraheta still has his back.

"Let me say, I think he did amazing," Iraheta, 17, tells "Extra," adding, "That's who he is."

Lambert, 27, was upset when ABC censored his performance, but recently admitted he got "carried away" at the awards ceremony.

Allison says that "nobody should have been surprised" at Adam's sexually-charged performance.

"You guys know what Adam's doing," she says, laughing. "You know what's coming."
