Actress Molly Ringwald, 41, welcomed twins on July 10, reports People magazine.

The "Sixteen Candles" star gave birth to a daughter, Adele Georgiana, and a son Roman Stylianos, who join big sister Mathilda Ereni, 5. The age difference was not a concern for Molly, who had earlier told Fit Pregnancy, "I actually think it's a good thing, considering we're having twins."

"It would be so much harder with a toddler than with an almost 6-year-old," she explains. "It's exciting, especially since it's a boy and girl... it's the best of both worlds." Dad is writer/editor Panio Gianopoulos.

Molly has most recently starred in ABC Family's "The Secret Life of the American Teenager."
