Lisa Marie 'Sad and Confused' over Jackson Death
Lisa Marie Presley says she's "so very sad and confused" following news of her ex-husband Michael Jackson's death. She also says Jackson told her he worried he would die young like her father, Elvis.
"I am so very sad and confused with every emotion possible," she said in a statement read on CNN. "I am heartbroken for his children, who I know were everything to him and for his family. This is such a massive loss on so many levels. Words fail me."
Lisa Marie recounted a conversation she had with Jackson years ago on her MySpace blog. She wrote, "He stared at me very intensely and he stated with an almost calm certainty, 'I am afraid that I am going to end up like [Elvis], the way he did.'"
"I do believe he loved me as much as he could love anyone and I loved him very much," she wrote.
Lisa Marie and Michael married in 1994. They divorced less than two years later.
