Spelling on Gosselins Drama: 'Good Luck to Them'
Tori Spelling and hubby Dean McDermott live out their lives as Tinseltown parents in "Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood," but the former "90210" star tells "Extra" she hopes the media will take a break on embattled reality couple Kate and Jon Gosselin.
"I was actually a huge fan of the show. It was one of my favorite shows," Tori reveals. "Now, it seems to have gone to an odd place... I loved the fact that they were a normal family. They weren't in Hollywood. They were real, and it's hard for me now to see them on the cover of People Magazine... I was like, 'Wow, I'm not watching a celebrity family on TV. I'm actually watching a real family and I want to know what that's like so I can relate to that.'"
Spelling went on, confessing that she feels sorry for the Gosselin family's newfound media scrutiny. "So now it's gone to a whole different level and I feel bad for them. I hope they're prepared for what they are going through and just know that this too shall pass... next week, it will be someone else on the cover and you can go about your life. Good luck to them."
Tori keeps busy with acting and mothering tots Liam and Stella, but says she would consider shaking it on "Dancing with the Stars" in the future! "If I had the time," Tori says. "Right now, our children are so young, it's hard. When we're not working, it's all them, all the time. So I can't imagine taking on the daunting task. When I do something, I don't do it half-assed... If I was going to do it, I would do the training seven hours a day and put in my time... maybe one day."
"Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood" airs Tuesdays at 10 PM on Oxygen.
