"Extra" has obtained court documents concerning a lawsuit involving Heath Ledger's $10 million life insurance policy.

An attorney representing the late Ledger, John Laviolette, sued ReliaStar Life Insurance last year, claiming the company refused to pay the actor's death benefits to his beneficiary -- daughter Matilda, 3.

The legal counsel claims ReliaStar was refusing to pay because the company wanted to investigate further into whether or not Heath's death was a suicide.

The court documents state an agreement has been made between the plaintiff and the defendant.

Heath died in January 2008 of a prescription drug overdose, which was ruled an accident by a coroner.
