The John Mayer Variety Show!

Word is that CBS is close to making a variety show deal with Jennifer Aniston's boo, John Mayer.

CBS Prez Nina Tassler announced that the project is under development and an agreement is near.

The "Your Body is a Wonderland" babe worked with CBS in 2006 when he made an appearance on "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" In 2004, Mayer produced the comedy/documentary/talk show "John Mayer Has a TV Show" with VH1 and has also performed at the Comedy Cellar in NYC.

The five-time Grammy winner is up for two more at the
2009 Grammys.
