Is Miley Cyrus trying to free herself from mama Tish and papa Billy Ray?! Internet rumors say the 16-year-old wants control of her earnings -- the spectacular $25 million she raked in last year!

"Extra" went straight to the source for the dish! Miley's peeps says the rumor is false. The "Hannah Montana" star told us she is perfectly happy with the freedom her parents allow, saying, "They want me to do my thing and be my own person."
