Taylor Momsen Hospitalized

"Gossip Girl's" Taylor Momsen was released from Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in L.A. on Wednesday after suffering from a "severe and potentially life-threatening" throat infection.

Momsen's doctor, Shawn Nasseri, told Usmagazine.com "Taylor has been hospitalized for a severe, potentially life-threatening throat infection since Sunday... she is expected to make a full recovery in the next three to five days."

A source close to the actress revealed to Us Weekly Momsen was in L.A. for a school exam when she "woke up with a sore throat." The source explained, "She thought it was just a common cold, but was advised to see an ear, nose and throat specialist before getting on a plane back to New York."

"Gossip Girl" network CW announced yesterday that Momsen would be back to work by the end of the week.
