'American Idol' Picks Its Final 24 Contestants

Hundreds of thousands of hopefuls were narrowed down to the 12 guys and 12 girls who will continue their journey to the Kodak Theater in Hollywood.

The tears were flowing on last night's nerve-wracking episode, which saw each contestant face the judges to learn the truth.

The final 24 includes some of this year’s early favorites, like 16-year-old David, who belted out Bryan Adams. Then there's Brooke White, who is being compared to a younger Carly Simon.

Next Tuesday, the top 12 men will perform, followed by the top 12 girls on Wednesday.
