Stars Give Back for Thanksgiving

November 22, 2007 Star Sightings
From Angie Harmon to Sharon Stone, the stars are giving back for the holidays.

Angie teamed with the Alliance for Children’s Rights, Sharon joined UNICEF and Marlee Matlin and Mario Lopez served meals as part of the stars’ mega-charity efforts this season.

“What we are doing here today is teaching them how to cook,” Angie told “Extra.”

The “Women’s Murder Club” star brought husband Jason Seahorn to the Kitchen Academy in Hollywood, where she hosted a pre-Thanksgiving feast for young adults out of L.A. County’s foster care system.

“These kids don’t have families,” she said. “They don’t have anybody.”

But Angie says they have a powerful ally in the Alliance.

“Everything that they supply for these kids – resources, counseling, legal advice – all sorts of things,” she said.

Showing that kids are close to Sharon Stone’s heart, the stunning star brought her boys with her to UNICEF’s Christmas tree lighting in Beverly Hills.

“I come here with my children to know this is what counts, this is what it means,” says Sharon.

In New York, the “Rescue Me” cast and “Friday Night Lights” star Minka Kelly we’re doing the same at Microsoft and the USO’s “A Salute to Our Troops.”

“I’m just really honored to be able to support our troops,” says Minka.

And our very own Dayna Devon was honored to join America Ferrera, Ludacris and Virginia Madsen for the Teacher’s Count campaign, where each star is profiled with their favorite teacher or mentor.
